MEET SUZIE

I’m Suzie. Film Camera collector. Slow runner. Professional people-watcher

A born and raised West Londoner, I now live in Easton, Bristol with my husband Adam and our two spoilt cats.

Before that I spent several years living in Vietnam and Taiwan. I still love to travel and have plenty of places on my wish list.

Outside of my job taking photos I also take a lot of photos for fun. I’ve always got a couple of film camera projects on the go and I love nothing more than a long walk with a good coffee and a couple of rolls of film in my bag.

When I’m not talking cameras you’ll find me at the climbing wall, making very slow progress towards my 10k running plan, drinking a spicy marg or listening to some live music. My top 2 Spotify artists for 2024 were Aphex Twin and Britney Spears - there’s not much I won’t listen to.

“We can't recommend Suzie highly enough - working with her was wonderful start to finish. On the day she was fun, efficient and helpful. The photos are absolutely beautiful, capturing the joy and happiness of the day, while the evening photos are so dynamic, and full of colour and fun! Thank you so much Suzie!”

My approach

I have always been influenced by film photography. As a kid there were always boxes of old film photos in drawers in my house. I loved to flip through them, looking at family members when they were younger; memories from holidays and first days of school. As soon as I was old enough I had my own camera. I mostly took photos of cats and my day-to-day life (not much has changed) but I have always loved to document my life and create memories.

I used to be a teacher (and can tell you some stories!) but in 2018 I photographed my first wedding and was immediately hooked. I knew I had to make this my job.

I moved back to the UK from Vietnam in 2021 and took on photography full time. Since then my work has been recognised by publications such as One Fab Day.

Suzie is such a wonderful photographer, the photos from our wedding day are just brilliant. She captured our day perfectly with the documentary style photos we asked for, including photos of our dog! Thanks so much Suzie!

How I work

After 7 years in business and over 100 weddings photographed, my approach to weddings has stayed the same - that your memories are important and they deserve to be documented.

My style is unobtrusive and reportage. I’m here for the people who don’t want to spend all day posing. Who prefer a natural approach. Who want to be present with their loved ones and trust their photographer to capture it all.
