Getting ready at Doubletree Hilton Riverside

As a born and raised West Londoner, I absolutely adore coming back to my home city to photograph weddings. I love it even more if I get to explore a new part of town in the process, which made the morning commute over to the Doubletree Hilton Riverside even more interesting. This part of London is insane - around what seems like every corner you get an unspoiled view back into the city and over the Thames. Coco and her bridal party spent the morning getting ready in a room at the Doubletree Hilton Riverside that looked right over the Thames - it was so cool to see the whole city while getting ready.

Ceremony at Southwark Register Office

Coco and James’ ceremony was at the beautiful Southwark Register Office. The ceremony room has large windows letting in natural light (always my favourite!) and really lovely gardens at the back, which we used to get a big group picture of everyone, as well as for everyone to have a bit of time to mingle post-ceremony. Next up, everyone went out the front for confetti!

Epic Flutter Darlings Paper Confetti exit

Hold on Suzie - are you writing an entire paragraph of this blog about confetti? Well you’ll understand why when you hear about this confetti! Coco and James planned the most epic confetti exit by having a very, very healthy amount of confetti. They chose to use Flutter Darlings confetti. I really like this company because they have biodegradable paper confetti that hangs in the air really nicely (great for photos) plus you can choose the colours you want. And when I say that Coco and James had a healthy amount… The absolute flurry of confetti in the below photos was created with two handfuls of confetti per guest plus two confetti cannons. It made for an absolutely epic moment and I’m sure that guests were finding bits of confetti in their hair, clothes, shoes for ages afterwards. Worth it!

Wedding portraits at The Ship and Whale

The reception at The Ship and Whale took us back to that epic view of Canary Wharf across The Thames. Of course we had to take a few minutes there for a couple of photos! We took some natural, unposed photos before heading back to the evening celebrations.

Evening Party at The Ship and Whale

Coco and James know how to throw a party!! The dance floor at The Ship and Whale was great and there was even a guest appearance from a local dog!

Ship and Whale wedding photos on film

Such a lovely day deserved epic photos on film, too. As a hybrid photographer, I shoot on both film and digital, and was so happy with the outcome of these photos.
