Linda and Chris’ Colourful Autumn Wedding at The Mount Without | The Mount Without Photographer
Colourful Autumnal The Mount Without Wedding
Linda and Chris had a gorgeous, colourful and chic autumn wedding at The Mount Without, celebrating with family, friends, and their twins. Keep reading to see how they styled the day to represent what’s important to them, and how they planned an authentic and fun wedding day.
An intimate, celebrant-led ceremony
The day started in the upstairs part of The Mount Without in Bristol. This venue is always absolutely stunning and it was a treat to be back here and photographing the gorgeous space. Linda and Chris’ wedding took place on a beautiful October day - I always love that low October light and we were treated to tons of it today - the big windows in the upstairs of The Mount Without were absolutely perfect for capturing and amplifying the sunshine.
Linda and Chris had a pianist to play for their guests as they came in, and chose to have a ring warming to include all the guests in the ceremony. They also had their twins as best man and maid of honour, which was a fantastic way to include them in the day. Linda and Chris had Linda’s friend as celebrant, bringing a personal touch to their ceremony.
Relaxed couple photos on The Christmas Steps
With its location on the edge of Kingsdown and central Bristol, there are so many great places near The Mount Without to take couple photos. We chose to go to the iconic Christmas Steps and get some natural, unposed photos. We spent 10-15 minutes getting some fun, natural portraits on the steps and then walked back to The Mount Without so that Linda and Chris could enjoy their drinks reception with their guests. Oh and did I mention how cool Linda’s wedding cape was? Of COURSE I had to get a few cool pictures of her cape catching on the breeze because it was absolutely iconic.
Family style wedding breakfast
The wedding breakfast at Linda and Chris’ The Mount Without wedding was set up with family-style sharing tables. I always call this kind of dining ‘family-style’ and now that I’ve written it a few times I’m questioning it! But I mean the style of meal where large dishes are placed in the middle and shared. The table setup and styling looked amazing and as a photographer I was obviously very happy to be able to get so many great photos of the room and the meal!
Fun evening party in The Crypt
After the speeches, it was down to The Crypt for the evening party. Linda and Chris had an illustrator and a Photo Booth to keep the guests entertained through the evening. One guest said to me that The Crypt reminded them of the cool ruin bars that you see in Budapest - I’ve actually never been to Budapest but I have been to some Saigonese ruin bars when I lived in Vietnam and I completely get what she means. The Crypt has been very carefully restored to have loads of cool details from the building’s past and is a lot of fun to look around.
Colourful autumn wedding styling
Colourful was the aim with Linda and Chris’ wedding styling and they absolutely smashed it. Linda wore an Alice Temperley for Needle&Thread dress with some gorgeous colourful embroidery, which she custom tailored herself. Beautiful colourful flowers were done by The Rambling Rose and Linda and Chris also had colourful paper confetti, which looked amazing. The wedding breakfast was styled with colour in mind, and there were vibrant, colourful activity bags for the children during the wedding breakfast. The incredible cake was by Ahh Toots. Linda and Chris even designed their own wedding newspaper, with a timeline for the day and activities.
The Mount Without Wedding Photos on Film
Such a gorgeous day deserved some photos on film. As a digital and analogue hybrid photographer, I was thrilled to be able to offer some film photography for Linda and Chris’ day. The following photos were taken on Kodak Portra 400 throughout the day.
