A festival-style wedding at Trinity Centre, Bristol
Festival Style Bristol wedding
Well, I have got an absolute gem of a wedding to share with you today. Tom and Claire put on an epic festival-style city wedding in September at Trinity Centre, Bristol. As a Bristol resident myself, I was very familiar with The Trinity Centre as a venue that puts on excellent gigs and events. I knew it was going to be a great venue for a wedding and it absolutely is. The venue is just perfect for hosting weddings. People who have visited before for gigs might not know that there’s actually an entire upstairs - and it is stunning! I always love when a venue has lots of different areas for guests to explore and enjoy and The Trinity Centre really ticks all the boxes for that.
Festival Style Decor
I knew this was going to be a great day from the moment I arrived - colourful bunting and bright flowers on the tables made Trinity Centre look so vibrant and festive, along with fairy lights in the reception area and in the outdoor tipi. Bright colours remained a theme throughout the day, with flower centrepieces both in the indoor areas and outside as well.
Festival Style Dress code
Tom and Clare set their guests a ‘flamboyant’ dress code. And they delivered! Guests arrived in sequins, colourful patterns, glitter and bright colours. It was set to be a fun festive celebration right from the start.
In terms of the couple’s wedding outfits, Tom wore a hawaiian shirt with his wedding suit and Claire walked down the aisle in a gold sequin dress with a matching gold headband. They both looked mega cool and the upstairs ceremony room at the Trinity Centre was such a great setting for their ceremony because of how many guests it seats and the beautiful stained glass window behind them. The bridal party wore bright colours with floral headbands.
Wedding ceremony at The Trinity Centre
The Trinity Centre is such a great spot for a wedding because the upstairs room has a stunning full-length stained glass window that makes the space so nice to be in. Having a separate ceremony room upstairs is a really great thing logistically, too - as soon as the ceremony is over, the rest of the venue is ready for your guests to enjoy, rather than having to wait for chairs to be put away and put back out around tables.
The space outside The Trinity Centre is fantastic for a long confetti tunnel as well - Claire and Tom’s confetti was excellent because everyone got involved - the narrow pathway down to the gardens makes it all the easier to make sure the confetti lands directly on the couple as they pass by.
Festival Wedding Entertainment
After the formalities were over, it was time to get the party started. And it started with a bang - quite literally. Claire and Tom hired a samba band to bring a real party atmosphere to the garden which went down so well.
Tom and Claire kept the party going with two band sets performed by the groom’s band - the outdoor space at The Trinity Centre with its covered tipi makes a perfect all-weather setting for a fun wedding breakfast. Tom and Claire opted for a buffet for their meal, as they wanted to keep it informal and sociable, giving all of their guests time to chat and enjoy themselves.
Relaxed couple portraits
With so much fun happening around them, Claire and Tom didn’t want to spend hours doing cheesy poses for their wedding portraits, in a way that didn’t feel authentic to them. We spent about 10 minutes at a couple of hidden spots around the grounds of The Trinity Centre taking fun, natural and unposed documentary-style portraits, so that they could get back to celebrating with their guests.
