Emmanuelle and Liam’s Modern and Colourful Discoball Wedding at Gloucester Old Spot | Gloucester Old Spot Photographer
Emmanuelle and Liam’s laid-back September wedding at Gloucester Old Spot in Bristol was such a fun day to photograph. With modern styling and an un-traditional approach to the day, Emmanuelle and Liam crafted a day unique to them, featuring traditions they loved and leaving out the ones they didn’t. Keep reading to see how they styled their day and how they threw an epic party!
Heartfelt celebrant-led ceremony
Emmanuelle and Liam chose to celebrate their day with a celebrant-led ceremony. I always think this is such a great idea - part of the job of a celebrant is to learn about the couple and write a bespoke ceremony that tells their story. It brings so much more of a personal feel to the ceremony and it’s great for guests to feel involved. Emmanuelle and Liam had The Southville Celebrant on hand to do their ceremony, and it was a great one! The ceremony space at Gloucester Old Spot looked amazing, too, with a wall of mirrors and an archway of bright colourful lanterns. After the ceremony, it was out to the garden for colourful petal confetti and fizz.
Fun, informal group photos
The garden at Gloucester Old Spot is a perfect place for some fun, informal group photos. One back wall of the garden is taken up with a colourful mural by Bristol artist Lucas Antics and it was an absolutely perfect backdrop for some group photos. Emmanuelle and Liam didn’t want to take too much time out of being present at their day to take photos, so it was great to be able to do family and group photos right there in the gardens.
Fun and relaxed couple photos
For Emmanuelle and Liam’s couple photos, we went for a short walk outside Gloucester Old Spot. My aim with their photos was to capture natural moments of them being themselves, rather than feeling awkward with stiff posing. We used some cool walls as backdrops and spent a few minutes getting some natural photos, before heading back to Gloucester Old Spot for their meal and speeches.
Vibrant Colourful Discoball styling
The styling of this wedding was soo cool! Emmanuelle and Liam decorated their tables with disco balls and vibrant colourful flowers. The colourful vibe continued in the garden with garland streamers and colourful lanterns that created a fun festival vibe to the decor. Emmanuelle’s bouquet and Liam’s corsage were made by Wonder Flower and were absolutely stunning! I loved Emmanuelle and Liam’s sparkly wedding banner as well.
Gloucester Old Spot wedding photography on 35mm film
A wedding this stylish and cool deserves some photos on film as well. I took these film photos on Kodak Portra 400 alongside the digital photos from the day.
